Default Bought my First Vortex Scope

Well, I've always had mixed feelings about Vortex so I decided to put those aside because this scope really had the feature set I wanted and was getting great reviews.

I purchased a Razor HD LHT in 3-15x42 with the mil reticle. Apparently it tracks and returns to zero reliably. It is supposed to have great glass as well and it was new this spring.

Similar scopes would be a vx5hd 3-15 with cds or the zeiss v4 4-16? and a distanced similar model would be a NXS Compact 2.5-10 which could be had used for a couple hundred more.... but loose out on 5 top end magnification and older glass coatings but gain durability more than likely!

Many people say razor glass is just under top end European glass. It should outshine my vx-3s and vari x iii tactical 4.5-14x40 AO that I have currently.

Hopefully I have it in a couple weeks with Canada post. Going to be mounting on a savage 1 in 9 twist shooting 69gr matchkings for the time being.

I picked up a Riton scope for one of my rifles and this thing tracks awesome, check out this video and see if the Vortex can handle the “nipple twister” test.

Is that something you do in the privacy of your own home before going to the range or can it be done at the range? Asking for a friend!

I looked at one of them at Cabelas. The glass is great my only coplaint was the turrets feel loose and don't have a rel click to them. Maybe it was just that scope though. It is way lighter than the Zeiss but the Zeiss has real solid clicks on the turrets. The Razor I think may have better glass though. Let us know what you think of it when it arrives.

In your video I didn’t see the real test of mechanical flow ...that many scopes fail ( very famous and expensive)- in range shooting- up to 600m couple inches doesn’t matter but getting big of its nonlinear on 1500 and up
Ps. Actually that quite simple and accurate test is getting quickly removed from tube and even from long range shooters forums ...
Pps. Same as steel quality on blade forums- if you didn’t read it 20 years ago- you will never find real info, but it is there and you have to dig
