Perch fishing in Calgary
Maybe last ice fishing weekend on Lake Sundance. Anyone going? Anyone want to go?

Ummm. It a general invite?
Mods can move it if they like.
Or I modify the title to who wants to discuss Notley's budget while catching perch.
I take it your not interested.

No prob. Tons of perch for sure. Had a couple Gents out with ones little boy. I fished 4.5 hrs. Caught 7 rainbows, 6 brookies and 92 perch.
I call that a trifecta. A brown would of given me a grand slam.
Super great day.

That sounds like a great day! How big are the fish you catch, and are they good eating?

I caught about 170 perch today plus 34 brookies and 30 rainbows.
Pretty boring. Perch are full of eggs.

ya i should have come fish with you the bike show was a total joke. the entire building at the big 4 had like maybe a dozen tents from various bike shops and that was it, some kids jumping on the ramps. took me like 5 min to see everything after paying $15 for parking and $10 entrance. sheesh. so to salvage the day i paid another $15 to check out the international auto and truck show since i already paid for the parking, that was an awsome show. glad you did well out there kev

Average 5-7 inches. About a dozen just over 7.
They are very good eating.

If anyone lives down south there is a chance I may get out perch fishing in the evening after work.

Cold night hot fishing
Caught 36 perch in 1 hour tonight from 6:30-7:30 pm. 2/3 between 7 and 8 inches. Fat little perch.

Kicked you butt in round the dock race. Next time I suspect you will be a bit more competitive.

How many inches of ice is still left on the lake?
I'd love to get out one last time this season. I haven't been on the ice in a while now it seems. If you guys are doing Sunday I'm game. Or if you want company tomorrow after work I'm free after 4.

Lake ice is closed. Fishing off a dock. Only 5000 left under it to catch.

So about 150 in 2 hours. I figure in the last week we pulled over 1000 perch from under the dock with no end in Sight. Crazy. For a bit I was landing 2 perch a minute. The brookies and rainbows make for a nice distraction from all the perch. Interesting we both had grand slams. 4 species outing.
Brookie
Rainbow
Perch
lake chub
Still waiting for someone to catch a little brown.

were you thinking of coming out today? I am looking to go out again. Problem is anyone interested must be okay with catching 100 perch, 10 rainbows and brookies and taking all perch home.
Still waiting to see someone catch a brown. Stocked 1000 rainbows, 1000 brookies and 800 browns in the fall...Still yet to see the browns.
