Default Man attacked for taking pics in public in Toronto.

Saw this on Charles Adler last night. The guy got attacked for taking a picture in public and the police refused to lay charges. What would happen if the roles were reversed?? Whatever happened to equal rights???

You'd find that out real quick had she struck me. I'd smoke her in the little target zone dead center of the chin. Then, she have a good reason to cover her ugly mug.

Police should have arrested, charged, finger printed and photographed her. The laws of a free country stand above any religion.

That is absolutely ridiculous. In a country where supposedly women and men are treated equally, and people of differing religions are treated equally, the law should actually treat them as one and the same. I am certain that a big part of her getting off was not only the religious minority, but also because it was a female punching a male. If it had been a muslim male who punched him, he would have likely been charged.

Therein is the problem...the police refused to lay charges....
1) our Chiefs of Police have to grow some Gonads
2) our Politicians have to do the above
3) Once they do #2 above...our "justice" system has to be completely overhauled
4)...to the immigrants...You are in Canada...you left your barbaric laws and customs behind!... Do not try to bring them here....
There Gitrdun... I said it for you.... see you when I get back from Banned Camp....

First, I would be down to the police station to file an official complaint. Then I would be contacting my MP,city hall, as well as every newspaper, radio and television station, that I could think of. My goal would be to put as much pressure as possible on the police to get them to lay charges.

Firstly you have you ask yourself...

The police interviewed witnesses.

The police did not lay charges.

Something is fishy as far as the story goes.

To continue along these lines of bashing a religion over this incident is nuts.

You don't even know what arm of Islam they are...

This thread needs to be closed.

A person was hit.. Unjustly.. I don't care if it was white, brown, purple, male or female.. That was an assault.. And the victims rights should be protected and the person assaulting should have been charged. Oh Canada.. We stand on guard for what now a days??

Menzies also had a Syrian couple witness the whole incident who went up to the policeman to verify everthing Menzies said was true and still would not charge her. I don't think this one is over yet.

Look where it happened though. Toronto. Look at the chief of police there. Bill Blair. Nothing more needs to be said.

I hate to tell you Sundance, it doesn't much matter what "arm of islam" they are from. They all have more or less the same messed up morals and F'ed up sense of justice. I have spent a large part of the last 10 years in and around the muslim/arab world for both work and play. I can tell you this with absolute certainty, they don't care what our laws are, they will keep trying to have the laws amended to suit them (or ignore them altogether as is the norm). Does anyone recall the Liberals allowing Sharia law (derived from the Qur'an) to make it to a second reading in the House of Commons? We were very close to having a two tier justice system, one for Christians and one for the arabs. If you want some entertaining reading, check out Sharia Law. I have no problem with foreigners coming to this country as long as they adapt to our way of life and not the other way around and contribute to making this country a better place rather than trying to convert it to the craphole that they just came from. I am from just outside of Toronto and I can tell you that these run ins are getting more frequent. I have stopped holding my tongue with these immigrants and suggest others do the same. I am very happy that effective today I live in Alberta.

Unfortunately our entire system is to blame. In some cases, people get charged so as not to offend a certain group of people, and in other cases, the officials refuse to lay charges for fear of offending a certain group of people. And the number of those groups of people keeps increasing every day, based on race, religion, politics, language, and special interest groups. I would love to live in a Canada where every man, woman and child is considered equal, but given the way that things are going, I am not naive enough to believe that it could possibly happen in my lifetime.

Wow... this made me angry reading it. Made me think of a parallel situation in my mind:

Say I wanted to shoot a cigarette out of someones mouth... (she just wanted to knock the camera out of his hands "apparently") (I know I always swing at cameras with my fist)

If I accidentally hit the person in the face with my bullet trying to get the cigarette would the story continue as:
"no charges would be laid because I wasn't trying to attack that person, but I was merely trying to shoot the cigarette out of their mouth."

I know I am taking it to the extreme but seriously... this isn't religion or race related.

How is this bashing a religion? What's fishy? The fact that charges weren't laid because the police were afraid of a religion? What does it matter what arm of Islam they are from? A man was assaulted for doing a completely LEGAL activity and the police refused to press charges because they were afraid of the ramifications. Not cool. Not in this country. And why does this go on? Because people do exactly what you just did. This involves a religion that has a history of freaking out beyond all normal parameters when they don't get their way; so everyone should just shut up, not say anything, lock the thread, turn around and keep walking, nothing to see here folks. Let them do as they please. Good Lord. I wonder where this country will be in 20 years.

I welcome people from every religion and walk of life to this country...but you know what? THIS IS CANADA. Not Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, or Iran. You came to this country of your own free will knowing full well what it's laws are. Have the common courtesy to obey them. If you want to live in a country where it's illegal to have your picture taken in public...I'm sure one of the aforementioned countries will be more to your liking.

Now if you'll excuse me I think I'm going out to take some pictures...while I still can.
