Got an email from the Stollery Contributions coordinator.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Ken,
My name is Stephanie and I am the Community Initiatives Manager at the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation.
We received a Google alert that this organization (you) are hosting a fundraiser for the Stollery. First and foremost, thank you very much! We are honoured to be the beneficiary of this fundraiser.
Secondly, we would love to work with you more closely on this initiative and would ask for you to complete a Community Fundraiser Application. This will allow us to learn more about this initiative, but more importantly, will allow us to confirm the event's legitimacy should a member of the public contact us to validate whether or not this is a known fundraiser.
Please email me at sperilli@stollerykids.com to receive a copy of the application form, or alternatively, you can visit our website at www.stollerykids.com, select "Create an Event" and the application form can be found there.
Again, thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Kindest regards,
Stephanie
I have printed the application and will be sending it out tomorrow morning. I was just hoping to walk up to the door and hand them an envelope full of cheques, but this is not unexpected.
We may have to go until February 15th though, they want 30 days notice to accept donations.
Ken

+1 on all accounts, thanks to everyone that has helped out in the thread so far.
Now, lets get some more new faces in here! I found the 'get your fuzzy butt in the PIF forum" to work quite well when sent to 10 contacts.
4 of them are still threatening me lol

Well, the cheque will be from my Company, but I am sure there is some way to do this. I am going to PM Rob and see what he thinks. Thanks for your generous donation.
Now you have to teach my kids how to use it, and they will teach me. LOL
Should be like teaching treeguy...err a monkey to play drums.

I had hoped not to have to do this, but I have gotten a few emails about PIF items that were claimed, then no reply from some members. If you can make a donation to the thread, and even more important the Hospital, PLEASE follow through with it, every one of us are going on trust and the belief that what we are doing might make a difference for someone at the Hospital, and after giving as much as these people have in so many ways, for someone to not receive what was promised them is unforgivable.
If there is any chance of having giver's remorse, maybe think about it long and hard before you offer something up and then back out.
Anyway, back to the games.
I am going to be doing a big PIF some time in the next 24 hours, a twist on a mystery donation. I will be placing 5-6 items behind numbered pieces of paper, the first one to reply to the thread by quoting it and picking a number will win that prize, and when the number is picked I will remove the papers to show what was behind.
This is a spin on the 'mystery box' and 'mystery bag' on the other forum, in that case you claim the prize and then wait 2 weeks for it to show up.
Keep it going guys, I hope everyone is enjoying the thread, enjoying meeting some new people, and above all I have a certain number I am hoping to meet for the Stollery.
Carry on!
