Been many years since I ate a stocked trout from anywhere’s. I have lots of salmon, halibut and lingcod from the ocean to eat.
However last time I ate one I did the typical fillet, marinade in Kraft golden Italian salad dressing and bake or BBQ.
I’m not super picky and it was fine.
In Alberta the stocked ponds tend to make trout with a muddy or sulphur tinge to them… likely due diet switching from pellets to chironomids.
Lots of pellet fed trout Superstore. Haven’t eaten one of those ever.
