Default Red Deer Area

Where is the best places with in two hours to go fishing around Red Deer? We dont fly fish or have a boat. Have any ideas? We love Trout!

try the river at Blackfalds, pike, walleye, trout, whitefish, goldeyes.

dickson trout pond is full of rainbows and fishable from shore.

Benalto pond ....just out by eckville by the town of benalto on the north side of the road.........very easy to shore fish and great for kids

Try fishing the River right in town, some very large Browns exist here...

where exsactly in town do you fish for browns? ive heard at the little chief boat lunch in bower ponds is good. also ive heard along riverside drive by the asphalt plant? Ive been searching for a nice trout hole to fish on the fly but my skills and knowledge of the red deer river are limited

Dickson Trout pond is not too good right now. We were out there Saturday and it is starting to get real weedy along shore. Ended up wading the river down from the dam. Water was up some, made accessing some spots tricky.

I would recommend the mouth of the Medicine west of Innisfail, if you can climb down a rope to the river.
