If you're fishing for whitefish, I have some unique rigging setup for sale.

Are you on Facebook? There's a couple of people who make and sell them that post in the Sylvan and Gull Lake ice fishing group. Easy to make your own as well. I actually don't bother and just use tungsten jigs with maggots for whitefish and perch on Sylvan. They seem to be happy biting that.

Go to the wooden shoe the store at gull lake they have more wireworms there you can shake a stick at. If you can’t find them there then go to the crestimere store. Try Canada tire as well.

I couldn’t find any at the Fishing hole, Falun co-op or cabelas. Had a bright idea to tie them today actually. Bought a bunch of beads and hooks…. Can’t find 20 or 22 gauge wire. I know! I’ll buy a phone cord and use the wire inside that…. Didn’t work worth a sh*t. So now I’m looking for either wire worms or the wire. Ha!

Default Wireworms.

I use brass snare wire from most hardware stores, and copper wire, from household type wires. I catch most of my Whitefish on brass or copper.

If you fish sylvan lake you could stop by that local gas station just on the way into town. Sell them in the little packs, good bait in the back freezer/fridge usually and good people too.

Confirmed. The wooden shoe does in fact have more wire worms than I could shake a stick at.

Thank you all for the help!

I personally shook a stick at all the wire worms at the wooden shoe.

wire worm is simple to make your own. If you are in Calgary area, go to fishing hole for the hooks, then go to
Beads and Plenty More for the beads and wire. They have lots of choices and price is reasonable
