Default Heym/Martini Safari Express rifle

Hey guys, wondering if anyone in here owns or has handled one of these rifles. They're a little out of my budget but look like they are worth the extra cash. I've got a trip to Africa booked and this may be the gun I want to take.

I can only speak for the Heym I have....an SR70 sporter in 300 win mag, but the rifle fit and finish and the set trigger make it a dream to shoot....oh and it is deadly accurate, the target below at 100yrds shows the first 3 times I ever pulled the trigger on that rifle.

Had a chance to play with them a little at the Africa hunting show here this winter. What a treat!
If you have the cash you will not be disappointed. They are unbelievable, beautiful beasts that I so wish I could own. The finish is unbelievable and that action is top notch.
Had chance to chat with him a little also. What a great guy.

GO FOR IT!!!

Hmm, I've never heard of those guys before. They've got some really nice guns. Unfortunately no prices on the website that I could see, though I likely don't want to know lol!

Unless these firearms are already built, you will be waiting a long time for your rifle...Martini took over 2 years to build a rifle he made for my dad.it was a 270wby with a M70 Action/case colored/27" Octogan bbl....Well worth the wait for some of the best of the Best!

The rifles are built in the plant in Germany. Rolf said it's about a 2-3 month wait now. It's very tempting to order one.

I have shot the Merkel Double in 9.3x74 and Blaser double in 375 H&H hunting and currently have a Merkel Drilling in 12x12 over 7x57R. I have handled the Heym's but never shot one. They are a real nicely built rifle.

Double rifles and drillings are VERY cool and the well made ones are a true work of art. You can find some pretty good deals on used ones both here in Canada and on the Auction sites in the U.S.

These are expensive enough rifles that paying Prophet $250 to bring one in is no big deal, and you can save almost 40 to 50% off the new cost. Let us know what you end up with.

I assume you are going for dangerous game in Africa? What caliber are you looking at? I brought two guns when I went. A CZ 550 375 H&H for the bigger Kudu and Gemsbok and a 7mm RM for plains game.

I thought I'd share with y'all some pictures of the Heym I ordered. I picked it up from Ralf yesterday, can't wait to get out and shoot it. I topped it off with a Leupold VX-6 1-6x24 scope with the Firedot reticle in it. Gun looks beautiful, shoulders nice and the action and trigger are smooth and crisp. Africa look out!

Does it have a single stage set trigger? Cock it...and try and push the trigger forward....if it can push forward, close your eyes and squeeze....if you loved it before well....
