Default Hornady Brass.....

Hey everyone i am starting to reloading a friend of mine teaching me his methods. I picked up some Hornady 308 brass as they were all sold out of Nosler. Is Hornady a decent brand or should i of kept looking for the Nosler.

Hornady is okay; but I prefer Lapua over Nosler.

They tend to extend noticeably, but YMMV.

And if you shop wisely, a box of 100 Lapua cases is cheaper than the same amount in smaller boxes of Nosler.

As a new to reloading practices, you may have more to be concerned about than the make of brass that you select. Such as: is the friend that you are learning from accomplished in the knowledge of reloading safe ammunition?

The Hornady match brass is great in .308. I've used it and have had great success with exceptional accuracy out of the long range gun. It's weight sorted and the runout on the necks is quite decent. Hornady brass is just fine, especially when starting out.
