What amazes me the most is the claim it was caught with a rod & reel, and not a net! The thing is almost as big as the little lady holding it.

I thought i read on the internet somewhere, may have even been a post on here, but same place, same fish but it was a native guy who caught it in one of his nets. He also said he has thrown back bigger ones but this one was dead, so he kept it. I don't really belive either.

I becoming a little less skeptical . . . this (almost) 70 pounder was pulled out of the same lake, using a rod/reel. http://fishwithjd.com/2007/10/02/alm...of-lake-trout/.

looks like the same fish, the background appears to be the same.

Good sleuthing, Pierre. Yes, same fish . . . and caught by a net, not a rod/reel.

38 kg. lake trout----63.80 lbs. I would say it is the same fish.

by the way 38 * 2.2 = 83.6 pounds :-)
