Order one size up, they fit snug. They fit well if you are into the really snug athletic look, I prefer a little extra room.

I wouldn't say they are necessarily snug. They are however fitted according to their layering methodology for instance I bought a super down jacket I wear a large in arcteryx as well as first lite and the kuiu large worked for me. I also have a pelton hoody its made to fit tighter as a base layer and the large would have worked well however I was looking for something I could wear stand alone so i got an xl so it fit more like a normal hoody.

I agree with 1 size up for outer layers. I have a guide jacket in a large and wish I had the XL. I find the large is a little snug when the temperature drops and i need to layer up.

Be prepared to spend at least an extra $120 on duty...

Catch their gear days. They were in Alber, been in BC for a while, looks like they might be coming back to Alberta? I missed the last days in Alberta, crossing my fingers for next to try on gear. Follow the event schedule on FB.

I found that for the under layers go with your standard size for t shirts and hoodies, but for the outer layers go one size up. I bought one of the insulated snap jackets in a large for a base layer and it fits nice, for the outer layers i went with an XL (guide jacket, and rain jacket) 5'11'' 195 btw. If you know somebody that has some gear give it a test fit before you order.

Call Kuiu and get Dallas' phone number. If you're near red deer you might be able to swing by his place and try everything on!

Default sizing guide

They have a sizing guide on their website, measure yourself up and order. I was fortunate enough to be able to try it all on but already had the measurements and sizes figured out from the website, it was nice to verify the fit but not necessary. Duty will be bad but its still on par if not cheaper than sitka and a much better product if you ask me.

I have a few pieces but wish their guide jacket was sized differently. I have worn North Face, Columbia, etc. XL for years and can throw a couple of layers underneath no problem. I wear a XXL guide jacket and there isn't room for much else. It is cut for california fashion, not hunting Alberta. And the next size up is huge.

I found they do fit tighter then most hunting gear, they fit similar to Sitka so go try some on for comparison.

There is not a ton of extra room through the chest or shoulders for layering. In my mind sizing is sizing and in my experience they are pushing two sizes difference from most other clothing lines. Not only that, but their sizing varies from year to year.

^^
That's hard to believe that's a xxl. Barely get a sweater under it.

Your XL fit EXACTLY the same.

I like the jacket. But if you want to throw a vest under it you feel like you are in a straight jacket.
