Smile First Deer

Shot my first deer at 14, it was a mule deer whitetail hybred 2 year old buck. Missed my first shot with a 303 British rifle. After tracking him in the fresh snow got a second broad side shot and made it count.

I was 27, did some hunting when I was in high school, never got a chance to shoot anything, started again a couple years ago, got my first dear, now I get to go after a bull moose this fall. Very stoked.

I think your right Tree. Back in my day I believe you could carry a shot gun at age 14 for birds and rabbits and 16 for a rifle to shoot deer.
Anyrate I was 16 when I shot a 3x3 buck.

good job, elk are one of the toughest critters to get. I've got 3 and i'm 18 haha, 1 bull and 2 cows. But i'm smack dab in the middle of elk country, not luck i'm just an outdoor/ gun freak like many lol

First deer... 29 or so, I think. A year after the Berlin wall crumbled, NE of Berlin... a small roe deer doe.

I went on my uncle's driven shoots for hare and pheasant from age 10, but didn't get my hunting license till 1987. Killed my first duck in 1988. Killed my first sparrow with an air rifle fifteen years earlier though.

The mandatory hunter's education (back in the netherlands) was quite expensive, and required travelling to places that weren't accessible with public transport. It wasn't until after university that I could afford the course and the car.

I was 27 years old......a 3x4 whitie.....small but I was thrilled. Grew up wanting to hunt but didn't know anyone that did hunt and my folks never allowed guns in the house cause of the bad memories growing up in Europe during world war II. The only thing better than that moment was when my daughter was born the same year. Since than.......many more amazing hunting memories with a lot of great hunting partners.
