Awesome looking area and nice buck. Congrats!
It's nice to see some areas of Alberta that have some decent hilltops to spot from.

Thanks! Not bad for a first Muley I don't think. We found some more open areas for glassing after I shot my deer. Where I shot my deer there wasn't a lot of opportunity to glass real hard.

Thanks guys! Some people wanted to help and others just want to tell you to figure it out on your own but appreciated all the tips I did get. Not the biggest deer but looks good mounted up, was a fun hunt with my dad so was a good way to immortalize it I think.
That zone is an awesome zone and fun to hunt in. I will be back.

Not that score is important, but what do you think that buck would score? He looks good on the wall. Wide and deep fronts, 175+?

He’s a great looking mount for sure! But he did fall short on that one back fork and he was very thin throughout...but that’s alittle harder to see through a scope in a blizzard haha. Also the fact that I suck at field scoring mule deer but he went 167” gross. Not bad for a first one. My goal for the hunt was 170” so close!

Bonedogg it wasn’t the antlers that told us it was a cross but it was the large whitetail flag sticking out the back end that confirmed it for us. Had F&W take a look at it and confirmed it could be scored as either species.

Put together another successful hunt with a friend this past week. Saw lots of good deer but ended up settling on this buck. We took a shot at a real dandy the day before but high cross wind was a miss for my hunting partner. He was happy with the hunt though.

Yours was one of the top mules of 2017 for me, and now you help your buddy get an impressive one this year. Nice hunting, especially in a zone new to you.

Get on it! If you decide in the 150’s let me know I’m pretty versed on the area now.

Thanks! I really appreciate it. I love hunting in the south and mule deer are so much more fun than whitetail. But I might have to put in some serious time around home and go all in on the WT.

Looks like he did do it again! Without handouts. Lol.
