Gun Grabber Game Plan
“In Germany, the Nazis first came for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak for me.”
Pastor Martin Niemoeller
“In Canada, the legislators first came for the snub-nosed pocket pistols, and I didn’t speak up because they didn’t interest me. Then they came for all the other handguns, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a handgunner. Then they came for the semi-auto rifles, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a rifleman. Then they came for the rest of the rifles, and I didn’t speak up because I was a shotgunner. Then they came for the shotguns, and by that time, there was no one left to speak for us shotgunners.”
Unknown shotgunner a few years hence

Far too many of us (here on the AOF, and elsewhere) do absolutely nothing, but whine, bitch, and complain, and expect others to do the heavy lifting for them. The term 'Parasite' comes to mind.
In addition to Bat119's suggestions above: - Stop the petty whining, and resolve to finally stand up, and actually Do Something.
- Establish a relationship with your MP, and lobby him/her on a regular basis.
- Convince friends and others that 99% of firearm owners are good citizens, and not part of any 'perceived' problems.
- Join a political party, and become 'actively' involved.
- Stop wasting time on useless things (bitching sessions, media polls, etc.).
- Write well written, constructive letters to the editor of your local, regional, and national newspapers.
- Join one or more Canadian gun-rights groups, and become 'actively' involved.
- Participate in related Parliament Of Canada petitions.
- The list goes on . . .
Until the majority of us get actively involved in meaningful, constructive ways, we as a group, will continue to be; 'Our Own Worst Enemies'.

Sound Familiar
I submitted this write-up about 5 years ago.
A book has just been published titled "Gun Control in the Third Reich", written by Stephen Halbrook.
I am going to provide you a part of a book report written by Dave Kopel. It is as follows... A 1928 law required a licence for the acquisition of a firearm, or for the purchase of ammunition. All licences were registered, so the ammunition requirement had the effect of providing the government with a list of people who already owned guns. In 1931, the government further tightened the laws against carrying any arm (even a knife or truncheon) in public, and authorized the German states to require retroactive registration of all firearms.
.......The Weimar government itself had worried about the dangers of registration lists falling in the hands of extremists. On Jan 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler was lawfully appointed chancellor of Germany. When the Government itself fell into the hands of extremists, so did the registration lists. The lists were quite useful for the Nazi confiscations.
...Over the next five years , the Nazis worked methodically to force all elements of society into line.. For example, independent gun or shooting sports clubs were outlawed. ..., clubs were registered with the state , ruled by a Nazi political officer. Many clubs disbanded instead.
... In October 1938, the Nazis used the arms registration lists to complete the disarmament of the Jews.
....As for the rest of the German population, resistance might have been possible in 1933-34, but now it was too late. The nation that had once been amongst the most civilized and tolerant in the world was now disarmed and supine....

Sad
Unfortunately, the OP never posted again, but his 'real' intent appears to be; A Call To Action ... for us to finally stand up and actually/really 'Do' something about the anti's drive against us.
But sadly, in what appears to be the norm here now, the AO room fell silent.
