I wouldnt keep track too closely......that could get quite confusing...lol

Back when I was younger we used to gopher hunt almost every weekend in late March through to May. Several weekends I would shoot on Saturday and Sunday. Dad would drop me and a friend off with a brick of .22 shells and we would shoot gophers all day long (including a packed lunch lol).

I'd say back when I was in my early teens I probably shot over a couple thousand in a year. Each trip we were killing a few hundred with no problems.

Way to many to count. 3 years or so ago I had a patch that for every Saturday I would plow thru 2 full bricks of .22 stingers. If I recall correctly I think it was 6 Saturdays in a row. That's 6000 rounds.

I like to think I made a dent that year.

my buddies and I when we were teens shot over 800 in about 6 hours. We threw their bodies in the back of the truck to try and keep count. Some got down their hole before we could get them. The truck bed was completely covered; over 6 inches deep maybe a foot. Pretty nasty. This was down in Del Bonita where I have seen the road nearly turn red from 18 Wheelers mowing down the gophers there were so many. If you swerved to miss one you would hit another. I don't know if it is as bad anymore, this was in the early 90s.

2-5000 per summer is pretty easy if you go out on the hottest days when there is no wind you can easily blast through 500 or so in a couple hours with a 22LR. Cheapie ammo

Between 2 of us last year we shot 5000 gophers in one section. In ONE weekend.

We have shot I would guess 25,000 out of that section over the last 5-8 years.

I was back there last week, and shot 150 in 1 quarter.

Yesterday we went to another field and shot over 700.

Used to do very well when I lived in Saskatchewan, but haven't much luck since moving to Alberta. I'm just east of Edmonton and doesn't seem to be too many places, great big game hunting areas on the other hand.

I need to wear out my .204 barrel so far its barely broken in.

I usually end up with a little over 2000+ of the little prairie poodles per season. My main arsenal is 3 204's with a 10/22 and a 243 for back up.
Haven't been out yet.
