Suffield
ive hunted the base twice before. First time in a Tacoma. Brutal conditions, deep blowing snow and we got stuck 3 times and had to dig out. We did get 2 elk on the last day and we basically had to shoe horn them into the box. Second time we had a 3/4 ton dodge long box. Little to no snow but a lot of mud. Almost got stuck just driving right on the main roads. We got 3 elk that trip and again had to shoe horn them into the box. My best suggestion would be to take the truck with the best tires but keep in mind how many guys are hunting with you (if two guys have tags, how are you going to get that many animals into the truck) I will be there again this year for the first and second antlerless hunt and the second and third bull hunt as a helper for my son, 4 buddies from work and my brother and nephew. goid luck on your hunt!!!!
