Default Where is it?

Folks,

I've spend way more time than I should attempting to find the "list" of now banned firearms on the Govt sites.
I'm not interested in third party comments.
I want to see the original amendments.
Any ideas where to find it?

Don

I only have my phone, so no idea how to post a link, but if you go to the RCMP firearms site, there is a link to the list. I googled banned firearms list Canada, and it took me right to the page with the link.

Here you go Don. It was on pg38 of the Super thread. Just because it isn't named, does not mean it won't fall under one of the other paragraphs in the amendment, have to be very careful reading it.

Who really cares. We need to all just carry on doing what we always did because in reality the incompetence in this government they couldn’t organize any kind of mass confiscation anyhow.

I would just love to see our province tell ottawa to leave our firearms alone, in other words, set up a barrier preventing any and all future gun grabs.

Thanx for the link but it is part of the firearm rights.ca site.

I’m looking for a link to an actual Govt site.

Can’t find one and I’ve spent several hours looking.

Maybe it has disappeared for revision?

Yes. JT, Mendocino, Lametti, and Blair couldn't organize a dog fight at the pound.

Here is the list from the OIC: https://gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p2/2020/...ors96-eng.html

The amendment to C21 has not been officially published but there are copies of it on the net and is “public knowledge” and has been posted here in one (or more) of the threads.

Hope that helps.

What I really wanted to say had free and house in it but I thought that may get me banned.

Yeah, my original involved a type of bar and some other act, but, discretion.

But, we don't ban lightly, mostly just send warnings and the odd suspension now and then. Not worth worrying about.

Elk hunter, I believe Don is looking for the new proposed amendment. Those ones you provided appear to be what’s in place now.

Don, I don’t think the government has publicly posted their proposed amendment on any government website right now.

He asked for the list of "now banned firearms" not the list of firearms that they propose to ban in the next amendment. And he asked for a government website for a source in a later post. The government websites only list the bans actually in effect, not proposed bans. If he wants to see something else, he needs to clarify.

Folks,

I’ve now spent several hours looking for the banned list on Govt sites.
Lots of info on the gun blog/sites talking about the list. Some links are broken.
Is there still a list on Govt site or has it disappeared?

Don

Both of those government locations list the currently banned firearms, the government sites don't publish lists of proposed to be banned firearms, so until the current bill is passed, there will be no additions to the lists at those government sites.

Folks,

Thanx for clearing up the “banned list issue”.
Never occurred to me that the Govt only published what was past legislation which is the reason I couldn’t find anything later than 2020.
Now, that brings me to the present proposed banned list. I see lots of info, concerns and even copies of the proposed list.
Where did the “proposed banned list “ come from that is widely quoted?
And better than that , how do I know that the newest banned list is credible?

Don

The banned list is not even credible it will be changing as they get kick back for making idiotic decisions.....I would just wait one and if anything assist in kicking back.

I see on the news that the Province is talking about not enforcing the Gun Ban.

Where did they get the list of banned guns?

Seems like the “gun press” are the only ones who have it. Where did they get it from?

Still waiting for my MO to tell me where it is.

If you listen to the official Alberta response, they keep referring to the 2020 ban, so they don't need the list of proposed firearms to be banned, they simply won't prosecute based on any ban 2020 or later.

When C-21 is passed you will have your official list. The fact that you can’t find a government published list ought not to please you, but should scare the living daylights out of you.

Would the Alberta response to guns banned by the feds mean that you would be able to trade, sell or will your hand guns? Or are hand guns pretty much done still?

Everything that I heard referred to the 2020 bans, I didn't hear the minister state anything specific about handguns. In any case, the Alberta response doesn't make it legal to possess or buy/sell the effected firearms, it just means that they won't prosecute to enforce the ban in Alberta. And of course, if the ndp are elected in Alberta, given Notley's support of Trudeau, she would likely reverse the provincial stance on this.

The transfer and sale of handguns is 100% under federal domain, so no.

Still an amazing amount of gun owners do not understand what a sham the Alberta announcement is. Nice soundbyte, that's about all it is.
