Default Found an interesting photo...

... of a nice rooster on the net. You can really see the cape and saddle of feathers on him. Raising him to an age where his feathers are usable and keeping him healthy and prime takes time and money. Hence the high price of prime capes and saddles.

Nice Picture.IMO The loss of Howards Hackle in Didsbury,was enormous to the tying commitee

I dunno, his saddle hackles look pretty short and heavily tapered. Looks more like he's bred as a show circuit rooster than one bred for fly tying material.

? You mean tying community?

Anyway, nice pic. I'd certainly add those hackles to my inventory.

Spoke to Howard a couple of weeks ago, he still has a few capes to sell.
