Default 410 unsafe

Twice today my Sinsinati 410 single shot (Made in Turkey), fired on its own when closing the action. It did this to me once last yr and I thought fluke but forgot about it till it happened twice in a row today .
Any Ideas as to what’s going on? I guessing something obstructing the trigger mechanism inside the action maybe ?

Stuck in the forward position firing pin, broken spring ? I've got one of those Turkish guns in 12 gauge, fairly foolproof.

Default Turkish

Quality and parts are both inconsistent and non-existent in that order.

Unfortunately ,you have two choices when buying a single shot these days Turkish or Chinese. Unless you find a good vintage one.

Not saying this is the issue but I have seen some imports with poor heat treatment on the hammer and or trigger sears , the edges are soft and no longer engage properly

Obviously your firearm is unsafe and should be inspected.

I remember standing next to my dad at about 12 or 13 when he broke open his single shot Winchester 12 gauge to unload it in the barn yard and it went off.

Very dangerous and frightening.

Have to revise my original post. This is a hammerless gun, probably a sear engagement issue. Disassemble and do a good cleaning, to start.

If you want to spend some money, you can still get a single shot from a decent country - Japan or Italy come to mind.

Yup going to take it apart and hit it with some brake clean and scrub it out

From my experience with that type of issue it is probable not an issue of being dirty. Actions of that style action stay quite clean just by their design. My money is on a sear losing its edge ,or some other mechanical issue.

Took this gun apart today and everything seemed fine inside, not really dirty and the sear engagement looks pretty substantial. I sprayed it out with brake clean and then blew it out with compressed air. I put a bit of graphite powder on moving parts and reassembled. Will test it on the weekend . ??
