Default EID shutting it down Oct.1

Just in case no one is aware of it, EID is shutting down access to Crawling Valley for boats and vehicles as of Oct. 1. All gates will be locked at the campground until freeze up and when they deem safe for lake access. This was posted in the campground office. I'm wondering if the same will be for Newell and Rolling Hills?

Rolling Hills is already closed for the season. As of now the plan is to keep Newell open all year.

They better stay open. I am getting sick of launches being closed by October if not before. Chin used to be open until Thanksgiving monday but now this year they close up middle of September and they doubled the launch fee this year for a shorter season. I unlike most am out fishing in my boat until the end of October, leave the gates open!!!

They have on one checking boats for invasive species so they shut the gate. Newell is a provincial park so I doubt the EID has jurisdiction.

The EID has installed gates at all the boat launches in Crawling Valley, Rolling Hills and Newell. Once the Rolling Hills Campground and Crawling Valley campground shut down for the season, the EID is intending on locking those gates. Rolling Hills will be closed until next camping season, Crawling Valley until ice has formed on the Lake. As of now the plan is to keep Newell launches open, but there are gates there, and they can be used at any time.
