Default Grouse Hunting 2013

Thought I would share some pics from my weekends of grouse hunting. The whole post is up on my website but I didn't want to post the entire thing it's rather long winded

What a beautiful season it's been! Travel Manitoba is also having my sister and I out for duck hunting so I'll be sharing that soon as well. I've never duck hunted before so this is going to be entertaining to say the least.

If anyone else wants to chime in with pics or stories you can. I just love some of the pics I got this year and wanted to share. They are a little more artsy fartsy kind of hunting pics LOL!

Do you know the best way to clean a ruffie?

Lay them on their back on the ground, spread the wings....step on them one foot per wing.....slowly pull the feet, voila....cleaned ruffie.

Nice pics!

AW thanks! It was a great time of reconnecting as siblings, something that non-hunters ever really understand fully. It's not always just about bagging the game (though dang, were they tasty!)

We did a couple that way but I had to agonizingly pluck a few. Oh my god. That took all the patience I had!

I want to roast up a whole one for a recipe, so you don't want to know how long it took me to clean one small bird. The life of a food blogger haha! All that work just for one recipe and a beautiful photo.

Has anyone ever scalded them successfully?

I've boiled water with parrafin wax in it, dunk them 3 or 4 times and the feathers come out way easier if your gonna roast the whole bird
