Default A place to winter camp near Suffield?

Hey Guys
I'vs been drawn for the Jan 26-28th Suffield Hunt and I'd Iove to set up a small camp somewhere close by to make it feel more like a hunt. Does anyone know or personally have land that they'd be willing to allow this on? I'd be more then happy to provide references.

Thanks!

There's not much close to Suffield. Jenner rodeo grounds on the Red Deer has a camp ground. It would be just under a 1 hour drive to Suffield. That would be the closest camp ground. Next would be around Medicine Hat or the Forks by Grassy Lake. Then your looking at just over a 1 hour drive. It needs to warm up a bit -29 this morning. Tough camping.

Guys used to camp at the Atlee schoolhouse. Not sure if they still do.

Default Cactus Pizza

You should be able to camp in the RV sites at the Cactus Pizza in Suffield. We have camped there 2 years in a row for the November Suffled hunts. I am pretty well positive it is open year round. Keep in mind that this is located right along the trans Canada highway. Lots of road noise as well as the odd train blowing its horn periodically during the night. Can't beat the location though. 5 min drive to the morning check in. The number used to be (403) 544-3550. Call first and check. I will be there the same week helping a buddy and we might camp as well depending on how deep my trailer is buried in the snow when the time comes.
