Default "On The Cover"

Each month I buy Alberta Outdoorsmen and I often pick up North American
Whitetail and always Bug Buck Magazine. The only mag. I get in the mail is The Outdoor Edge as I am a Alberta Fish and Game Association member and it comes with the membership. The other hook and bullet mags. I glance through on the news stands and if there is a particluar article or two in an issue I may buy one.

The Cover picture is meant to catch your eye and plant the disire to buy the mag. in your mind. Well the cover picture sold me a Sports Afield magazine today. The August issue has a pic. of the kind of bighorn ram that dreams are made of. Looking at the ram on my wall, it looks like the teenager he is compared to the grand-dad on the cover of SA mag.

Not sure if I am allowed to scan the pic and post it here. But check it out on the magazine stands.

The hardest part about hunting "Bugs" is getting a good head shot so you don't spoil the meat.

I think we should debate the "ethics" of relying on a head shot to kill a bug, a shot thru the midsection joint puts them down and liquifies the organs into a delectable puree

Now this buggy buisness is fun and all but we are detracting from the topic of 1. the effect of a great cover picture and 2. the incredable big ram on the cover of August Sports Afield.

Must be a slow weekend for a lot of us, to pick on Duffy's typo. He could take the wind out of sails by editing it. Nothing as eye catching as a good ram.
