Default Da 2019 s Alberta huckleberry report....

So.... convinced most of the fam to hike in to our huckleberry patch today...

Crop isn’t stellar, but it’s better than in previous years... the moisture helped.

Our dog seems to eat em as fast as we pick em!

Not the best haul... but I’ll be out there again. Need my muffin berries.

Good haul!!! I haven't been out there for years. Worth the hike in though.

Good looking haul! Thinking of hiking up to Haig Lake on Saturday to pick some, looks like timing should be right

I picked just about 5 ice cream pales of blueberries and some raspberries in the last 4 days and made 41 jars of jam so good. Tried to load the picture but not working😕

Love it! Good lookin’ crew Bessie. Thanks for the trip report. Definitely some of the best, and most under appreciated threads here for some odd reason.

Talking Yummy!!

I was wondering how you made out... did you hike in past the resort over that tiny bridge, as you mentioned on my thread? May I ask how far in you went? See any sign of Large Brown Furry Things that like berries? I get a bit unnerved sometimes although we do pack spray, which in my case would likely just serve as seasoning for my well marbled carcass...

Looks like a great berry foray for the family. Yummy.

Ever tried juicing the huckleberries? Bet it would be divine chilled on a hot day. Would be neat to distill some of the essence oils and make some huckleberry candies for the trail.

I see there are vape pens that have huckleberry flavours. Drop a berry or two in the old pipe.

Got nuff for 3 pies n two muffin packs for winter.

I’d like 4 more pies worth and 5-6 muffin packs.

Hope I can get out there again.

Either way.... ain’t smokin any of it.
Vaping just don’t sit well with me. I dunno why.
