We were there 4 years ago, love those hot pools, but the wooden walk way was not very safe with no grip shoes

Mile 497 on the Alaska highway.
The big lake is Muncho, the small cave is at Muncho.
The Hoodoos/mineral lick is between Muncho and Hotsprings

Thanks for posting those pics! I was just at Liard about a month ago with a friend. We were passing through and got there at midnight. I had never been there before, but he had and said we could walk in and go at night. Sure enough, there were a few other people there. Amazing.

Great pics. Years ago we made several trips up north and always spent a night there. Kids loved it so much they cried everytime we left. Truly a "slice of heaven". Few places one can take a hotspring soak without the cement and chlorine!

I haven't been up there since 1982. I must plan a return trip in the next year or two.
Your threads and pictures are rocking this place!

Thanks.
I haven't posted for a long time, I believe I've mostly caught up now on the big trips I've made

Exactly.
This is why we go at Xmas/New Years - so we can have it to ourselves or visit with the people willing to make the journey. Even living only a couple hours away it’s not worth going during spring-fall.

Beautiful pictures.
I used to be a production engineer for some Maxhamish gas properties up there - the operations staff always told me to take extra field time to visit the Hot Springs. I never did and I regret it.

Did you make it into Maxhamish lake? That’s where I have my cabins.

November would be great. Anytime through the Fall, winter, and into spring is good, there will be fewer other people, if any.

I did. An operator drove a few of us out in an argo. Took awhile and the horseflies were horrendous but the area was spectacular. 2009/2010 I think.
