Lets see your hunting camps!!
Hey guys,
There was mention of starting another hunting camp thread....so lets see em!! Whether its a wall tent, a bivy sack, a dome tent, a camper, a trailer, a cabin, etc....lets see them!!!
Post some pics and tell us what you've got and anything that makes your camp 'original'....
I'll start with my 'old' camp...I sold this camper and am currently in the 'upgrade' process of going with a nice wall tent setup. It was an old 1970 17' Skipper and made it through some good hunts all across the province....
This is Duk Dog and the 'mulie/antelope' camp from last year.... its like staying at the Hilton!! God he looks manly in this pic.....heh...

Good idea guys.. Some sweet lookin set ups out there fellows keep them comin..
Here is our set up.. My 16x32 milatary tent and the bro inlaws 14x16 used for the guys that want to sit up later and have a couple bevies..
Here is some of the gear.. The 24' covered trailer that we haul most of the gear up in and on the right the nephews 8' tandem axle tub for the game.. What a sweet unit rides like a caddy. And all powered with a 3000 Honda inverter..
What makes our camp special I like to think its the stove a cousin of mine and I built from an old 100 gallon tidy tank I had at home.. Cut the front off and re did it with some heavier iron.. She burns 12" 14" wood 3 feet long don't even have to split it, which is good for those long cold nights..
And of course my kitchen.. 2 camp chef stoves, cuboards that break down and folds up to 4" thick clamps together with bolts and wing nuts...
Ahhh camp life,, a little afternoon nap on an old moose shed yup life is good in camp..

Oh man am I ever getting the itch to get out again.
Only 8 months 3 weeks to go  .
There are some really nice camps so far and a couple really good ideas to improve our camp in the following seasons.

Bundaberg Lodge
Here are some photos of what we call Bundaberg Lodge.
The first one is packing in.
This one is the setup.
This is our sign that we hang every year. Either over the door or on a tree. I carved the sign using a heated tent peg one year.
Here is supper.
And this is what happens when you have to much Bundaberg. Eric is on the left and Ken (Griswold on this board) is all too often seen in this position LOL.

No hunting camp pics as we hunt deer within 10 miles of home.
When we CAN get to (bow hunt)moose camp,it's looks pretty similar to fishing camp.
Before you ask,yes,that IS a camo tent trailer.

Nothing too special, this is the typical camp I set up when I head up north for a moose/deer hunt. The tent is an old forestry/wildfire tent I picked up years ago that keeps me dry and sleeps 2 comfortably. I would eventually like to build a slightly smaller wood stove than the one I have now. A friend of mine built a fancy little wood stove using an old (large size) propane bottle and it works fantastic.

My trailer/Tent
Got the idea from my buddy, though his was a steel trailer with wood bunks. Mine is a 12 footer V shaped aluminum. Usually carry two quads with wood burning stove at front. Sides are 4' high 1/2" plywood, canvass top. We put down foams pads on the floor, that way you can walk in there without boots and it adds as floor insulation.

How much weight do you think the walls/roof/insulation add to the trailer?
Ballpark, of course! Or as my old HS shop teacher used to say:
"use the SWAG method" (scientificwildassguess)

The trailer weighs on its own 565 LBS. add 6 sheets of 1/2" ply at 50LBS each and another 50 for the tarp, that's an extra 350LBS, so total weight would be 915LBS. Compare with a typical steel trailer at 1100LBS without adding anything to it. In the summer, with my four kids, I carry 3 quads. While hunting I usually take two quads, at the V front is the stove with the bucket full of 2x4 chunks and the cots. Easy driving, trailer does not have brakes. The Triton LT12VR-101 snowmobile trailer is nice in that the sides has a 2" lip which makes it easy to attach the plywood to it, nice and clean, that is opposed to a steel trailer and the stake and pocket look. I painted the plywood silver gray to mimic a full aluminum side. Incidentally, if wanting to purchase a Triton, Martin equipment can't be beat as they truck them in with their heavy equipment from the States, about 500 to 800 bucks cheaper than anybody else.

Deer camp, brought home 3 WTs from this one.. this was the first night, next morning all three deer down and out!!..
