Paul Brandt, who is a good Crowsnest/Cochrane boy and a pretty decent angler too should have seen this one coming and insisted in singing the second verse in French. Just like the other Paul - who is franco-Albertan - did at Rexall.
With all the Habs fans there, it really got the barn rockin' and pretty well stayed that way for the rest of the game.
Singing the Banner when there was no Amerk team was just weird. Another Bettman stunt that backfired. When are they going to dump this offensive clown?

I was a bit confused about the singing of the American anthem also. Turns out the NHL was trying to please an American network that was carrying the game. I also disagree with that.
I don't think it's a big issue at all, but it seems out of whack that the NHL would go out of it's way and bring in a practice not normally followed to take care of the sensitivities of fans whose teams weren't even involved in the contest, yet completely forget to think about the fans of one of the teams that WAS playing.
since when? I have been to a few games in the states and have only heard the canadian anthem along with the american anthem if there was a canadian team playing.
