Default Balistol

I have seen I mentioned on this board a few times. What do you use if for and how do you use it. Can it replace my G96 for rifle lube?

They say it's a CLP. I have a bottle but haven't used it yet.
From their site:

I have been using it for the past 6 years. You can use it on anything, even on your eggs in the morning, lol! Amazing lubricant, doesn’t gunk or freeze even at -30! It mixes with water and after the water evaporates, it is still there, covering the desired objects. Can be used even to protect leather or wood.
I’m using it all around the household as a lubricant and on all my guns as a gun oil.

It doesnt effectively attack copper in your bore, but it works great for cleaning up fouling and any other environmental added dirt. Doesn't bother your skin. I prefer the pressurized can over the squirt bottle.

Some Canadian tire stores carry it.

I use butches bore shine followed by ballistol.

I use balistol where I used to use wd40. I clean my boots with balistol.

For some wierd reason the smell reminds me of Southern Comfort, not as sweet, but kind of a cross between fried chicken and Acetone.

I like the 9 star targets they have. Great for load development at 100m
Then the 5 star version is great for 200m and 300m range work. That’s large star in the centre is great for aligning the plex reticle at those longer ranges and the small 4 for the quadrants are great to test your shooting consistency

I bought a new rifle and cleaned it all up with G96. It was a while later that I run across this stuff called Ballistol and read up on it and thought why not give it a try. The military uses G96 and also uses Ballistol so I figured that if it’s ok for them it would do for me. The rifle I originally cleaned with G96 was due for a wipe down so used the Ballistol on it. Couldn’t believe I was seeing signs of the factory grease showing up on the rag. Tore the gun down again for another cleaning, all I know is that what I thought was clean, wasn’t. For lube a couple of drops will go a long ways.
Use it for all sorts of things on the boat. I guess you can say I’m sold on it.
