Removing the Ruger Logo
Aah. That’s better. Not done yet, but what an improvement.

Nice brass jaws on the vice!
Did you file off the logo? If so looking great! Was it stainless to begin with or is a reblue in order?

They are copper jaws. Hard to find! Yes, it is stainless and I filed it off.

It’s blasphemy that they stuck it on there

I find it gratuitous on my 2007 African. Especially because there is a nice logo integrated into the grip cap.
Chuck, I like what you are doing. Might need to look into home blueing kits

I like it! Nice work! I am with Grizz on this one. I also do not like the gratuitous warnings and engraving on some barrels.

Gotta say though, as far as rifle maker's logos go Ruger's is about the best. About the only one I'd want on a hat or a T shirt.
My Ruger was a stainless Mk11, IIRC the bottom metal had no logo. I always thought that Ruger used aluminum, except for the old tang safety models.

Original M77s with tang safety came standard with aluminum floor plates.
