Wow; Some of you people should really listen to yourselfs. While your at it be ashamed. One of our fellow outdoorsman got HURT. Doing something we all love to do. Hang your heads in shame. It could happen to anyone of us at anytime in the outdoors. Instead of all the BS we should be wishing him a speedy and full recovery.Imagine what him and his loved ones are going through.

Hope he is doing better.

Wondering where this info came from, and what firearm?

In some ways I hope it was a pistol, as it shows what many of us have been saying for years... But at the same time I don't want the gent to have more issues than he already has...

I was moose hunting that exact area with Rob at this time last year! He knew the area quite well and I can assure he was VERY bear aware. This is just one of those unfortunate situations that can and does happen. Its a risk he was a aware of and risked because he loves the outdoors. And now he will have one hellva story to tell! Speedy recovery buddy!

Interesting that it happened around 10 a.m. I'm most nervous if I'm walking into a fairly heavily forested area in the pre-dawn period. As a hunter trying to sneak in you do everything you're NOT supposed to do to avoid bears.
Wait. You have trees?

I guessed wrong!
