Question Bull/Cow moose draw question

Hello everyone,

My father and I were talking and was curious to know if you had say a priority 5 bull moose draw and you switched it to a cow moose draw instead would you loose your pirority or would it stay the same? My dad wants to try it cause he's not a trophy hunter anyways and just looking to fill his freezer. Any information you guys may have would be a great help!

Thanks for your time,
Kevin

Your bull priority stays at a 5 and your cow would be a zero (provided you have never put in before), they are separate draw codes which you cannot put in for both in the same year.

Thanks for the quick reply lefty! If you 999 your bull moose draw can you put in for your cow then still? I know you can only pick one from the species per year.

No you cannot, must choose one or the other you cannot put in for both even if you want to 999 one of them.

By the way, it should be noted that there is no "bull" draw, and no "cow" draw, the wording is "antlered" or "antlerless". And no the words don't mean the same thing, there is a very good reason for using "antlered" and "antlerless". You can legally tag a young bull that doesn't have an antler at least 10cm, with an "antlerless" tag. And should you encounter one of those rare cows with an antler at least 10cm long, you can legally use your "antlered" tag on it.

If your a 5 and not a trophy there are some really good zones where you could fill your tag easily
