Good job again!!
Things slowed down for me and I pulled all my gear last week.
Got 14 this year and a friend shot one off my baits.
I figure 27 in 2 years will save some moose and deer I hope and hopefully help out a caribou or 2.
Keep whackin and stackin Bob

You must be putting in a lot of effort, for sure you will notice a difference in game populations.

I think they like to play around. I've had plastic gas jugs chewed up by them. I've heard of guys setting traps around old oil jugs.

Yup it's works. Had 6 baits going. Not fun trying to feed them and a bunch were educated from last year. Pretty much got 3 out of the 4 packs under control now but it took some time.
I figure if a pack eats an ungulate a week I should be seeing some change in the next few years. Kinda why I wanted to do it and it's a bit fun as well lol

Nube, well done trapping 27 wolves in 2 years on a new trapline is no easy task. You have definitely got your wolf trapping technique mastered. Yes you will definitely save a lot of moose and caribou. My research has one ungulate per wolf per month. Doing the math your 27 would eat around 330 moose/ caribou/elk or deer in a year.

I heard a wolf will eat like 7 caribou a year up north so that's allot of deer.

Do you do anything with the pelts or is it purely population control? Looks like fun either way.

Great job, man!

And Nube, that's great to hear also! Kudos to you guys, helping our lil ungulates get a head start.

Has anyone heard from Popcan's wolf hunting, this year?

I love these threads.

Jonny
