Most of it evaporates anyway, I spray it down the vertical bore and let it sit. Smell is catnip to gun nuts.

Is a patch with G96 Gun treatment rum down a bore not a bad idea before storing firearms for a while in a safe between outings? Better options?
Pouring rum down my bore is often part of my pre-cleaning ritual and often as not the very inspiration for pulling a gun out of the safe to fiddle with in the first place,lol.
