You can get a general tag....good for any general mule deer antlered or antlerless provided it is not a draw season.

The tags do not distinguish between buck or doe....the seasons do.

In this case yes you are wrong

Mule deer have some different rules surrounding them....you can hold both an antlerless draw and an antlered draw at the same time.

Or you can hold an antlerless draw and a general tag....

BUT you cannot hold an antlered draw and a general tag.

So if you buy a deer tag in a unit where both antlered and antlerless are general, you can shoot either one depending on the season?
Thanks

They are seperate tags, mule buck can be general or draw, mule doe is draw. If you hold a general tag it is good for a buck only,if you have a antlered draw it is good for buck only. How ever if you have a antlerless draw you can harvest both in the same zone, just on different tags

You are wrong on this one! Looked in to it one year and with draws you could shot 17-18 deer in one year 6-7 of them could be bucks! But you had to get 3 draws and all the supplements!

A general tag can be used for an antlerless mule deer if there is an antlerless season that is not on draw....several zones have antlerless mule deer open during archery only season that are not on draw.

Not in Alberta you can't....there is no combination of tags where you can legally shoot that many deer and that many antlered deer in the same year....

Then they steered you wrong. You can hold 4 of the 25 different 'antlered tags' (general or special license), but not 2 for the same species (antlered). Basically all the variations of antlered whitetail, mule deer, moose, and elk licenses.

Antlerless Mule Deer is in a different category of 16 licenses of which you are allowed one of each.

Its clear in the regs. Been that way for years.

Sad that the draw handlers missed that one on you.

No worries! I think you are correct in that there are not any non-archery seasons for antlerless mule deer unless you have a draw.

And you can shoot antlered mule deer with Camp Wainwright deer tags, so you can shoot multiple antlered mule deer in one season.

Wt gen- buck 1
Mule gen- buck1
Wt supp-doe2
Strathcona - doe2 buck1 ( eather wt or mule)
Foothills- 2 doe
212/248-2 doe
Camp wainwright- 2 doe 1 buck and for some resin I thought it was 2 bucks and one doe! But not sure
And you used to be able to get mule doe draw with 2 tags!

So that is 4 bucks and 12 does
Whitch is 16 deer in one year 4 of whitch are bucks! Could not remember cuz we looked in to it 4 years ago I think

I was questioning more the claim of being able to shoot 7-8 antlerled deer. I knew about the other opportunities.

Only time you could have done something like that was during the "cull years".

Default Re: Camp Wainwright deer tags

In 2013 the Camp Wainwright draw comes with 2 tags which are good for a deer of either species, either sex and age, so 2 bucks are allowed.

When I hunted Wainwright last year I received 3 tags, same rules, so was allowed 3 bucks had I so desired and the opportunity presented itself. I didn't and it didn't.

In 2012 with a General Whitetail, General Mule, Camp Wainwright and Strathcona license I could have harvested 6 Bucks.
