Default Ladder, climbing sticks or tree steps (pegs)

What do you folks use for your tree stands and why?
Ladder, climbing sticks or tree steps (pegs)?

Debating on getting more pegs or some sticks. I think the ladder is out for me just because of convenience/ carrying in.

I picked a latter because I wanted a really high stand, and would be a lot easier to climb in the dark
The ones at the store looked cheep and didn't think they were worth the asking price, so I build my own out of 1" thin wall square tube, 5x 9' pieces 18" between runs.... I knew that taking it in would be no fun, so I used 12" spikes , 8 per piece, I don't think you could steel it if you wanted to.
But it can't be moved...

I really like the climbing sticks! - comes in either 4 or 5 section pieces, each section is 4 feet long. They link together and strap easy around the tree trunk! makes it way easier to climb in/out - got me a few sets from Jim-Bows Archery in Calgary and enjoy them lots.

Good Luck!

The ones I have are made by Gorilla Tree Stands and they call them Stacking Sticks. Either 16 foot or 20 foot sets are available. They are so easy to put together and they are very nice when climbing in/out.

Cheers.
