Question Question about west castle area

Looking on google earth it appears there is a "road" that goes past the ski hill to the border. Looks to me like there are a few pretty decent spots to head out and try my luck at bagging some grouse (depending on the dogs health) Just wondering how the access is. OR wheres all this "logging" happening that I hear about? Dont get me wrong aside from getting out there and finding out for myself (which I plan on doing) more so looking for a "right" direction to head lol

There is a road that goes west past the ski hill, but it gets quite a bit of quads on it. I don't know how it made out because of the flooding this year though.

Quads dont matter to much to the birds from my experiences. Im definatly thinking if I head that way I will take my winch and a few tow straps lol. Atleast if I get into so crap I can get out without walking to far lmao

The road forks... the left takes you to the head of the Westcastle Valley, and the right takes you to the Middle Kootenay Pass.

We see quite a few grouse along the South Castle Road too.
