Default Tobin Lake Trip

Hey guys,

My son and I are planning on heading over to Tobin lake in two weeks for a few days. Looks like March 5th-8th. I have a couple questions accommodations and lake access if there are any guys here who would be willing to share a bit of knowledge. Looking at staying at either the Shorebird Inn or the Northern Green Gold Resort. Not sure which might be better..? And is there a places or places that might be best to access the lake? Should I be taking the sled or is Tobin pretty much truck accessible this time of year? looking forward to the trip so any information would be very helpful!

We stayed at shorebird last year, we went near the end of feb and the fishing was very slow at the time. I would suggest taking the sled so you can get around better and don’t have to worry about getting stuck. I know the flats are good for catching big pike, and I usually just fish the river system for walleye. The maps that you can get there usually give you a starting point on where the walleye are and the pike. Good luck, let us now how you do. Was hoping maybe to go there later March .

Check the iceshanty Saskatchewan board for info.

Calling the resorts for information is a good idea too, they are all very friendly.
