Default Pig live weight price

I have no idea, so I'll ask you fine folks.

Is 1.50$ per lb a good deal for pigs.

For this price, I would have to do all the butchering myself.

I just paid $350 for a 250 to 300 lb live pig delivered to the butcher. Will know total cost in about 3 weeks. I find myself dreaming of bacon and ham,

Depends on how they are raised and what they get fed.
Free range? Penned in crap for 6-8 months and fed trash? You get what you pay for.
Would you eat a dump bear?
