People are going to start caring at some point when you can't import your trophy kills.

Well, no, these changes in policies have been going on for a while now. This Zimbabwe lion fiasco has just re-ignited the fire.

Who is "miss prissy"?

Holy bat crap.

This is a snowball that just keeps on growing. SCI is going to have to be able to do some heavy lobbying on this one. The problem is that this will also affect tourism here in Alberta.

everywhere in Canada no more newfoundland moose, quebec caribou, yukon moose, and on and on.

a company that receives government funding should not be allowed to alienate Canadian citizens and hurt Canadian companies

You know who this really hurts, and who should be showcased? Aboriginal guides in the north. Their livelihoods, and that of their communities, will be impacted if their clients can't get their caribou heads and hides home. Perhaps aboriginal sympathies or rights will trump those of animal rights activists in the eyes of the public and Air Canada.

Happy I sold my bear camp 10 years ago. The anti-hunter, anti- outdoorsmen will crush us. 86% population urban. 14% rural. Many outdoorsmen are urban. However we are as sportsman severely outgunned.

Anyone know where we outfitters can apply to the NDP for financial assistance in these dire times?

And any suggestions on what we can call it rather than a bailout or welfare for the rich?

Think positive....

This is a great time to start a game transportation business.

Bad business decisions breeds profits for others

I would feel just terrible if this resulted in foreign hunters choosing to hunt in other countries, instead of coming to Alberta.

Well now that they have seen how pliant Air Canada is, the next logical step for the anti's will be to demand the banning of firearms from luggage.

It's their company, so they get to make the rules.

A company spokesman says the airline will no longer carry trophies from lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceros and water buffaloes.

Default As has been mentioned

I believe pressure from guides outfitters and northern communities will reverse this as far as north american trophies are concerned. I believe South Africa airlines did a similar thing in 2013 and they reversed the decision within 3 months due to pressure from their tourism department as well as professional guides and outfitters association. Small country like Namibia takes in 13 million dollars a year from trophy hunting so it is critical to their economy.

I wish I could say they will no longer be getting my business, but I quit flying AC about 10 years ago. I think I might have flown AC 4 or 5 times in my life, and every time something went wrong. (never mind all the grumpy old beaches you have to endure)

Hopefully I'll never hear another AC complaint on AO again. I can't even fathom how a gun owner or hunter would ever give them a nickel in business.

You nailed that one

Holy crud their flight attendants are grumpy crankpots and barely polite.

You gotta go chase em down to place a request after they bring the cart thru.

They just chat and hide behind the curtain.

Horrible just horrible and pathetic service !!!!!!

People are dumb if they think engaging a mob with rational argument will work.

We would be better served if each and every AO member shut up about Cecil the lion and stopped debating these people. Stop posting pictures to social media sites for the time being. A new media target will be along soon enough. All you do by engaging them is add wood to the fire. Let the fire burn itself out and repair the damage done after the useful idiots have move on. Take notes on what companies are getting stupid and when the fiasco goes away write them a letter stating you won't be giving them any money and why.

Engaging anti-hunters with creative, well crafted logical arguments does not work. It's the absolute worst thing we can do. The ONLY thing that works is taking fresh faces out hunting and shooting.

Soon a new equally brain dead thing will arise for the lemming masses to get upset about. We need a war or something for all the free time people have to get upset about silly things.
