Alot of this stuff is driven by government. Companies i think alot of times may not fully understand the requirement so they go alittle beyond to be on the safe side.

All that stuff like bbs, lps etc is just a ready made tool for continous evaluation and improvement, the faceshields and respiratory stuff come right out of ohs etc.

When companies go above and beyond I find iteasier to get the medium ground that is actually required. Usually contractors fuss to get the requirements lowered no matter where they are set.

My company hasn't been on any of the big contractor sites in 4-5 years for this exact reason. Supply only. Pick up from my dock. Don't even sent my drivers to the site.

I think alot of issues come from over management.... lots of management and lots of twiddling thumbs. If you got a management postion for every two or three guys on the floor you can easily have two managers have two opinions about how one guy should do his job.
