Cochrane Fishing

I have been looking for spots here there and everywhere around Cochrane . I am a shore fisher and I cannot seem to catch fish. I would love to find a great hole on the bow, elbow, various creeks, ghost, seebe and streams and absolutely into hike in fishing. It could be as simple as I'm not sure where the access is or I just don't know where to go also I am not a fly fisher so I mainly use spinners and little 5 of diamonds. Also I have been to grotto pond quite a few times and have had success however I was hoping so places slightly more secluded. Feel free to PM me if you're willing to share a spot just not with the whole internet.

Lots of fish in the bow around cochrane, i'm guessing its your technique more than anything. Try swinging your lure in the current and holding it in the water once its reached the end of the swing. Although I don't spin fish, i've had a lot of success with that technique fly fishing.

As for other spots, find rivers on google maps, identify sections with deep bends, and go explore. It takes time and effort, and eventually you'll find your go to spots. Most importantly, read the regulations before exploring a new piece of water

Maybe try a fly on your spinning gear.
A fly on the end of your line and a bobber about 4 feet up.
You can get both at any outdoor store. Bobber needs to be firmly attached to line and a little weight to cast it.
Worked well for me before I got HOOKED on fly fishing

Nail on bottom about 3" inches depending on water speed.
Brown fly on leader about 2' feet above nail. Leader about 8" inches
Live maggot on brown fly.
Learn difference between rocks and fish hits.
Sure thing, will catch fish all day, any day.

Thanks for all the tips I recently bought a fly rod and just need to put some time in to learn it. I'll walk the shore within the next couple days to see if i can spot any deep holes since the bow is low right now they should be easy to spot.
Maybe see how fly fishing will treat me

That is great fishnmagician....I hope you get "hooked" (no pun intended) as one of the amazing experiences for a fisherman is to have a trout rise to your dry fly, or pound a nymph behind your hopper.

Be careful if you're fishing in town. They've been releasing the dam around 5 or 530. The water came up about 3 feet on me and my partner last night, in the span of about half hour. Got 3 whites and a rainbow, good luck

At the end of town, near Heartland, there are cliffs that are STACKED full of aggressive, willing to bite Rainbows. I would suggest using a small blue & silver spoon and casting upstream in the current.
