Default 8 years in the making!

Finally sealed the deal on Sept 21st around 6:30pm on my very first bull elk. 70 yard pinwheel double lungs on a 5x5. Fastest elk hunt ever - 20 minutes. South west alberta!

An awful lot of big game was killed with the .30-06 including the big bears before everyone became affluent enough to own a rifle for every species of game they might hunt.

Thanks everyone for the awesome replies. I feel like a 8 year long conquest is over but a start of a new one to hopefully start by tagging out every year on one!

I feel very satisfied with my outcome!!! Still all smiles!

Actually after you shoot your first one ... the monkey is of your back and everything fall's into place afterward's ... Elk are not a mythacle creature with bullet proof hide's and super power's ... just like any animal they are easily taken with a proven formula ... as long as you hunt where they are !!!
