I do not recall what the Lethbridge store looked like, but I was told that pre UFA most of the stores were designed so that they could easily be switched to Bass or Cabelas. Would be nice to keep something in southern Alberta to keep stores like the Tire and Flys honest price wise.

Once again this is great news for all of us, with the lack of big box sport stores we will all be forced back to local privately held stores.
We will once again build relationships with good, knowledgeable people that are working at said store because they want to, not because cabelas is the place that called the kid back after the summer job fair.

The market has spoken and capitalism is still king.

I wonder if they will do it like Best Buy & future shop did. Where their gift cards were usable at either store. I currently have $1,000 in basspro and would definitely prefer to use in cabelas.

as per sign at front of store - Cabelas accepts BP gift cards and I am sure that the opposite is true.

Should have googled it. First thing that came up was bass pro saying on their website they will exchange gift cards between stores.

She said it was a new policy and she needed to see my PAL, at which time I told her she could keep the bullets, and the other item I had, and walked out.
Is this some new law the government or the RCMP is trying to introduce, or some Bass Pro idea, or was the clerk mistaken.
My wife said I should have asked to see a manager, but I was too ****ed off.
Has anyone else had this issue on buying reloading components?
I bought some bullets at Bass Pro 6 weeks before with no need to show my PAL.
I had a similar experience at Bass Pro, the second time in a year being there and second bad experience I asked for some blank tags, They told me that was illegal, and that I could only purchase from them. I showed them the regulations, in which a manager came and said it was illegal for them to give out blank tags to apply at home. I showed him the regulations and he told me they don't have to follow the regulations they make their own rules. I then left everything I had and walked out. I have found my new store in a small town that treats me like I am their biggest customer (nowhere close to that am I).

I was in Cabelas in Calgary yesterday and they had a long gun cleaning rod for a $1 more than I paid for the exact same one at CT.

Default Cabelas is already going down hill!

Just made one of many purchases from cabelas online and I alway did it with confidence because it came with a return label and a satisfaction guarantee! Noticed the other day that my parcel that came in didn't have a return label so I called cabelas to ask for one cause I needed it. Customer service told me they are not sending them anymore with all orders . Only defective products and wrong orders sent will get free returns. If you need a exchange or are not satisfied with the product you have to pay the shipping.

From a former retail manager sounds about right to me.
