Leaving the army. My basic contract ended in 2003 and not a day goes by where I don't regret leaving. Now my family and I could never afford for me to go back.

Aside from this, get your education as early as possible, the more the merrier. Takes much longer and harder to accomplish anything as you get older.

Would I change anything though? Would it change the other things in my life? Would I meet my wife if I change things? Would I have the favorite girl in the entire world in my life (my daughter)? Probably not, I would not change anything since the rest of my life depends on it

Kissing Mom on her forehead when she was in the hospital dying with cancer. I told her it was ok to go, and she never took another breath. That was hard to get over.

Nope. Life comes and goes, there's no way to know what would have been different. I'm happy with how things turned out.

Education is way over-rated. Parents and teachers continually put pressure on young adults to further their education. It is not for everyone. And, more often than not, it is a waste of time and money.

As for education being way overrated, all I can say is
I have not met a single educated person saying that he/she spent money for no reason and that what they did was overrated. I have, however, met numerous people with hardly any education, ie high school or less, saying that education is highly overrated and it isn't worth the investment.
The fact that it is not for everybody is debatable. Really depends on when you draw the line.
But this is beyond the discussion of the topic at hand.
I stand my previous comment.

I figure if you have time for regrets, you probably are spending too much time looking backwards, instead of living today.

Do I have things I wish I would have done differently? Sure. If I took the time to make a list, it would be long without doubt. If I had done things differently, perhaps the life I have now wouldn't be the same, and I really like my life now because I've worked hard to have it.

Could my life have been better? Maybe. Could it have been worse? Certainly.

Living with regrets, pondering them, is a the ultimate zero sum game and pretty much a waste of time. Time better spent in the here and now. Learn from your mistakes and carry on.

(and for another five cents, I can pontificate about many other 'deep' topics. )
