That is a hell of a day hunt! What an adventure! I got cliffed out in the fog on a goat hunt, I can relate to how scary that is. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I’ll post a pic up when I get the euro back again! I already can’t wait to get my hands back on those horns.

What a heck of of a hunt and congrats on your first ram. Can't more than hope that you've learned a thing or two though. I hope this doesn't come off as anything but experience trying to help but if you keep doing things like that it will bite you. Reading that story I keep rooting for you but there is also an incredible amount of recklessness in there. You put your time in and it doesn't have to be that hard and dangerous.

There is a saying among sheep hunters that "sheep hunting is the most fun you can have while being completely miserable". I'd say this experience and your description of events is the epitome of that saying. I was completely pulled in by your writing and felt like I was right there with you! I've been hunting sheep for over 20 years and have had my fair share of nasty pack outs. If I'm being honest, my first successful hunt had its fair share of blunders and potentially life threatening miss steps as well. We learn from those experiences though and hopefully become wiser and better prepared for the next time. Congratulations on your first ram, it is a rare accomplishment and one you should rightfully savour!!

Fantastic job on harvesting and recovering your ram.
Sheep hunting is a world of it's own for sure and not for those who can't persevere when the going gets really tough.
Congratulations and thanks so much for posting this epic adventure!!!

Randy Pletz at Skullcrawlers did an awesome job getting him cleaned up and glued back together with what parts of his nose were left! It feels great to get my hands on him again. And even better, my daughter is a fan! Hopefully I will be helping her find a sheep someday to!
