Default Getting into hunting, looking for a mentor?

I have always liked crownland camping, hiking, and fishing- but have never had the opportunity to learn about, or go hunting. Now that I'm an adult in my 30's I'm hoping to learn these skills!

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I should start to connect with people who would be open to mentoring a really green individual? I'm located in Edmonton.

Thank-you!

One of the best resources for new hunter is AHEIA. They have offices and stage out of a few cities in Alberta. They have mentored programs with wel qualified instructors and you won’t be dissapointed. They also have programs specific to women that are all inclusive.

Good luck in your new pursuit!!

Start by taking the hunter safety course through AHISA, you can do it online.
Then get a copy of the regs either digital or paper copy
Get a WIN card online
If you don’t have one get a RPAL through a local firearms / outdoor shop.

Basically get all your paperwork started now in parallel with you finding a mentor.
