Default Norma Oryx bullets

I'm trying to find a 150 gr. bullet for my .270 and would like to try the Norma Oryx bullets. It will be for bigger game as I like other 130-140gr bullets for deer. But does anyone have any experience using this bullet in a .270 using H4831sc or H4350? I'd like to be at least 2800fps. All input will help thanks.

Cant comment on the Norma Oryx bullet - looks like a Nosler Partition to me.

I know Nolser makes some bullet lines for other manufacturers with different names. I purchased some 30 caliber 180gr Accubonds that are orange tipped with a cannalure made for Norman factory ammo.

IMO, I would stick to the 140gr bullet in either an Accubond or the TTSX and use it for all you big game. For me, I reload the 140 Accubonds in my 270WSM's. Very impressed with the performance on elk, moose, bears, deer at various distances.

ICE have you noticed any difference between the accubond and the partioner? I tried some 140 accubonds and partioners using 57.2 gr of H4831 with CCI large rifle primer and they both shot good the acc. a little better but not much but they both pretty much shoot the same place which I am really happy. Your probably right but I already bought the 150 Normas I'll start low and work up. The Oryx just look like they could stop a TANK!!

I use to shoot WS 180gr Failsafes in my older 300WM and switched to the WS Partition Golds in 1997 when I bought a new 300WM. Loved the bullet. My buddy and I had purchased the same rifles then (Sako m75ss) and shot the same ammo. In 2004 when I got my 270WSM and shot the WS 140gr Accubond CT's we switched also in our 300WM. We got tired of the soft nose of the PG's squaring off.

Since then the Accubonds have been our hunting party bullet (4-300WM, 1-300WSM, 2-270WSM). I reload since 2005 for my 300WM and 270WSM and now my 338-06AI.

I love the performance and the range and on big game. Very impressed with results of the 140gr Accubond from the 270WSM on big game-mostly all 1-shot kill - double lung pass thru penetration with devestating internal damage. I almost prefer just using this caliber and sell the rest

I did say almost.

Last animal for me was a large cow elk in 2008 @ 200m at -33degrees with the 270WSM. When she was hit, she flipped over backwards and dropped.

I was going to try the TSX in both calibers but traded them all off for more Accubonds.

My loads with the 270WSM are with Retumbo, Federal 215 Magnum primers - getting 3260-3300 ft/sec

I bet those Norma Oryx bullets will do quite fine

I wish someone who had a Norma manua could give me a min-max for this load using either powder. But thanks Ice I like the accubonds don't they look to long though for the gun.

Maybe look on Norma's website for info or Hodgson's site.

As for the Accubonds, yes they are long and if you seen my reloads (especially my 270WSM's) they are seated out alot further than factory...more powder=more velocity with great accuracy.

Ice I have and the Norma site gives out batches using their powder. Hodson didn't show anything. Sounds like your .270WSM is really COOKING!!!
