I really don’t understand that trade. More depth for the playoff run I guess. There’s a pile of experience there though.

Veteran PP guy. Been around a long time with Washington and Detroit. Couple of 70+ point seasons in his prime. R hand shot from the point which they can use on the PP.

Got him for nothing. Cheap rental.

Might free up a Benning or Larson ++ trade for a forward. Need one of those REAL bad.

Khaira is junk. He and Chaisson both. Need Kassian back with a new RW for McDavid.

I’m not the only one I see. Both those guys could be gone but I’m hoping p Russell. Not much of a player. Green is a free pickup. Brodziak is not going to do anything anymore

Russell can just go back to the minors. He's holding a spot on the bingo card. Doesnt generate anything but doesnt hurt the team either. Hustles. Bangs a bit. Smart. Just no talent. Lol.

I used to be a big Mike Green fan....about 10 years ago.

Giving up Brodziak and a "conditional" pick, and DET retains 50% of his salary, so he was basically free, and he's a UFA, so his contract is off the books at the end of the season. I can't see the harm. The upside if he sticks around is a veteran guy that's played high pressure minutes and move the puck. That might be VERY valuable depending on how bad Klefbom's injury really is or the nature of it going forward this season even when he does return.

On the dare to dream side, it allows them to package up Larsson, or Russell, or Benning, etc... for a bonafide winger to play with McDavid. Gagner and Chaisson are valuable bottom 6 role players, but watching them on the first line is painful.

Great pickup. He will for sure be with McD. I bet we do a couple more before the deadline. Chaisson is not a first line player so I hope they figure that out. Either is Neal.

You are right. Get kassian back and then Chaisson and Neal with be third and 4th line fits. Me thinks we have to deal out P Russell and Khaira. Draft picks would be awesome. Let’s hope 🙏
