Default Electric bikes?

I’m interested in electric mountain bike / fat bikes for extended back country fishing adventures. I’d like to hear from folks who have experience or knowledge about what to shop for. E.g. how many watts is recommended, mid-drive pros and cons, recommended makes, bang for the buck, etc. Thanks in advance.

I rode a couple last year where they assisted you when you pedalled. It was unbelievable. There are different models, a mountain bike style and a more road bike style (at least there were when I tried it) Specialized was the make. Really cool.

I'm in the same boat OP. I'm going to rent a few models this year if time permits and put them thru the grinder. There's all kinds of info/misinformation and I'm a bit confused , so best to try before plunking down some hard-earned.

What are the laws for those things ? Does that make them a ohv or a motorized vehicle? Would they be in the some class as the new Yamaha electric dirt bike ? Can you go in parks with them ?

I think there was a thread earlier about this. If they are over 500 watts they're considered a motor vehicle so you may be limited where you go. Also there were some parks that didn't allow them at all. Search for E Bikes.
