Default Bow river fishing/ picnic area

In two weeks I have to meet up with friends in Calgary to pick up my daughter. We usually meet at bass pro, but I was thinking that this time we could meet somewhere to picnic and maybe wet a line in the bow( finally). Not looking for anyone's honey hole, just a starting spot that would be suitable and easily accessed. Anyone? Thanks in advance.

This, Mallard point area has had all their picnic tables wiped out. There are many places you can just set up a blanket and have lunch along the river though.
